Keep Work Platforms To The Bedroom

We have always had to smile that the things that people do with the work platforms like our best sellers the Micro Work Platform 1 & the Micro Work Platform 2. They may well be a bit on the small size but it’s all that some people need. Some of our customers have told us that they use them to get into their shoe cupboards, reach the ceiling while trying to paint it and some even use them in the bedroom! (mind out the gutter people, mind out the gutter).  They use them to get into cupboards or draws that are higher up, or even to change the curtains over. And to add to all that the most common place to keep these work platforms that are used almost exclusively in the bedroom is in fact under the bed!

Well with all those facts about what people use our products for it has made us tired. So lets just relax, lay down here for a while and have a day-dream. Because today we are going to look at…

The top 5 most amazing beds that are available to buy today

5) David Copperfield has nothing on me! (thefancy.com)

The Magnetic Floating Bed has been invented by Janjaap Ruijssenaars and has been declared one of the best inventions by the Times Magazine. We know it sounds really weird and maybe you would be a bit afraid to sleep in it,  floating at 16 inches above the floor with no support below. The repelling magnets are built into the bed and on the floor and can support over 2,000 lbs, which is just enough. Unfortunately you can’t just move the bed here and there, because you will also have to move the magnets in the floor and it might be risky.

As cool as it sounds, this also has some downsides and one of them is the price. The Magnetic Floating Bed costs $1.5 million but and it can be already ordered. Oh and you should take off your earrings and other metal objects before going to sleep because you might face some issues. (don’t forget those nipple rings!!!)  So, would you pay $1.5 million for it?

4) The owl and the pussy cat went to bed! (fancycribs.com)

The Float Bed was launched at Furniture Fashion in May this year, and won the NZ made competition, being voted by the public as ‘Best piece of bedroom furniture’. The main purpose of this beautiful bed was to reflect a design that is both functional and fit for purpose. Float is handcrafted from sustainable harvest New Zealand native Totara, which is a water-resistant timber that requires little maintenance in its natural state. The base and canopy of Float are enclosure in Acrylic fabric finished in Teflon.

3) If architect’s made a bed…(dornob.com)

To be fair, these are just super cool, both the bunk beds set and the lofted single bed option include contemporary curves, a lovely modern wooden ladder and an overall dynamic-looking, white-painted wooden framework children can also appreciate. The elevated frame makes for great under-bed storage space in the single-twin variant while the doubled-up design has a low-hanging bottom level but creates free-floating planes at each loft level for a full sense of openness on both the upper and lower bunks and on all sides. Of course, these two bedroom furniture ideas look even more cool in this staged scenes photographed by their makers at Mimondo.

2) Sleep to the sound of music (musicforbodies.net)

We have already showed you some amazing beds but this one steps that up a touch. A designer Kaffe Matthews has designed a musical bed titled ‘Sonic Bed’ that is equipped with built-in loudspeakers. The designer aims at concentrating on making music to feel rather than just listen to. When a visitor lie down on it, an endless loop of sounds washes over them. Due to their frequency and intensity, these sounds are perceived with the entire body for a very pleasant experience. The project titled Music for Bodies is a research project linking the sonic mapping of human bodies to architecture. The bed features wooden side panels, multi channel sound system and 220V mains electricity.

1) “wakka wakka wakka”

Time for some lavish treat! Cosmovoide by the northern France craftsmen is unusually cool luxurious bed that is so magnetizing that you would want to leave all your work where it is and then to go and have a nap. Its design is unique: the special egg shape (or what we think looks more like Pacman)  was chosen for the feelings of well-being and relaxation that is derived as a symbol of life.

The structure of the bed was divided into two separate parts (both can be customized in the colors and materials). Inside the mattress pure latex (as in a bed joint) and around it the egg structure. But aside from it being comfortable the bed is also designed to offer the slumber seeker a technological edge as compared to other beds. This high-tech luxury bed features 2 electric relaxation bed frames, 7 LED lamps in the colors of the rainbow, a television integrated at the foot of the bed, a DVD player, high-definition home cinema set up, 6 power sockets, and a telephone. You can also customize the bed to suit your liking. Pricing for the base model sits at a cool £50,000. For that money we would rather buy a some luxury car.

Yes, most of them cost more than the likes of us reading it could only dream of. But the point is that these beds are now. they are not concepts, not ideas they are all real beds available to buy now. But we have to say that we think that in as much as 100 years from now the beds of then will look much the same as they do now. A bed is a bed and you don’t need the internet, music, water and anything else going in it or around it you just want to sleep! So despite these amazing beds saying they are the future we kind they are not. And most of us will still be in that same bed with the work platforms placed underneath them for a long time to come.

So who is coming down IKEA with us?!?
