The Kitchen Steps Into The Future

If you are lacking a little hight or just have high cupboards a little step ladder like a set of kitchen steps is the perfect thing for you. Because if you love cooking (or eating like us) you will spend most the time in your kitchens preparing that culinary masterpiece. But it has to be said that the kitchen hasn’t really changed with the times. Ok sure, there has been a multitude of kitchen gadgets realised that have made all our lives that little bit easier over the years but nothing major has changed. Which we think is a little sad, so let’s put those little step ladders away and turn that frown up-side down.

Today we are going to look at something a little bit different. Today we are going to look at…

The top 5 concept kitchen designs

5) Kitchen Trek! (blogs.laweekly.com)

When robots eventually take over the planet, they will start with your kitchen. The people at Electrolux want you to “Say goodbye to pots and pans and give a big warm welcome to digital recipes and emorphous surfaces that develop social relationships and enhance the enjoyment of food.” I’m not even really sure what the word “emorphous” means, but frankly, it scares me.

Digital chefs? Social relationships in your oven? Yipes. This thing will have an integrated kitchen table, cooking surface, and bar. You put the ingredients on the surface, the appliance analyzes them and tells you what recipes are suitable. Then it cooks the food for you. (Notice, however, there’s no mention of cleaning. But then again, makes sense. When the robots take over, the pathetic humans will naturally do the crappy grunt work.) Here, for instance, is the Rendez-vous. It has a virtual chef. You can cook on it. You can store food under it, and “at the same time wirelessly recharge your phone/ipod/laptop.” Seriously. Have the past 100 years of science fiction been for naught?

4) Have you got ALight? (www.core77.com)

In the future, there may be a global shortage of clean water, food, material resources and habitable areas. We may consume water just for drinking; eat food just for meeting our physiological needs; produce products just with recyclable materials; live in limited volumes just for sheltering and meeting our personal needs. In such an alarming scenario, what is the role of us, as designers? It is an unavoidable fact that innovational systems and products should be designed in any sections of life for the entirely sustainable future of our planet. ALight Kitchen is a system composed of integrated product designs to provide an entirely-sustainable kitchen concept for the limited conditions of future life.

3) Tuck it, fold it, turn it, pull it! (freshome.com)

This beautiful and smart kitchen design is made by Fevzi Karaman a designer from Turkey, Ankara who made the kitchen cupboard “silverline” which won a prize at a contest student. The colors of the kitchen pechues with a green apple that gives a sacred Deco touches to the kitchen. The modular furniture is very advanced with a work plan to be drawn into a table. This kitchen design is very clever, and when is not used as a kitchen it can be a sleek piece of furniture. I hope that one day I’ll see this kitchen design in practice.

2) I Pod, I pad, I kitchen?!? (www.momoy.com)

he new kitchen design concept that promoting a healthy lifestyle called i green, this kitchen was designed in collaboration with Veneta Cucine. I green kitchen designed by Indian designer Nilay Shah the concept is developed with emphasis on the term ‘’Green Design” which is outlined using the 4R concept of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink. It’s time to bring the healthy living in your kitchen with i green kitchen.

1) Rock & roll is dead! Long like the cook & roll!!! (ubeme.com)

Lithuanian designer Zivile Januskaityte has conceived an all-purpose futuristic kitchen table called Cook ‘n’ Roll, which contains all necessary appliances for food preparation. Cook ‘n’ Roll consists of a cooktop, dishwasher, sink, oven, sanitizer, and a storage compartment for kitchen utensils. The innovative table has an easily movable rolling inductive top that allows people to use all of the available table functions, and the surface is cleaned and disinfected in the under-part of the table using negative ions. The Cook ‘n’ Roll table brings efficiency and innovation to the kitchen, allowing people to multitask like never before. And check this out! Today we have seen the strange, the weird, the simple and the down right ugly. But just remember that these are just concepts! If you want to get those spices down from that high shelf then you need to get a set of kitchen steps! don’t stand on a chair or maybe climb up on the side because on day you just might regret that and isn’t the low prices of our kitchen steps enough to save your life? We though so.

Which one do you like the look of?
