Q1) When was the first ladder invented?
A1) The first ladder known to exist was invented more than 10,000 years ago (rough guess). Paintings depicting the use of ladders were discovered in caves in Spain, suggesting that ladders were first invented sometime around 8,000 B.C. or earlier. The earliest known picture depicting a ladder is depicted in a Mesolithic rock painting that is at least 10,000 years old (hence the rough guess) ,It’s depicted in the Spider Caves in Valencia, Spain.
There appears to be references in the rock painting which shows two naked humans carrying baskets or bags that are employing a long wobbly ladder, which appears to be made out of some kind of grass, to reach a wild honeybee nest to harvest honey! But most modern ladders are believed to have been conceived by Hebrews and Egyptians of course, but this does clearly show that grass Ladders were around in some form even back then.
