Our spiral staircase can come in quite a variety of sizes. After all every home isn’t the same. Some are big, some are small and some even look just like a spiral staircase!Now I am sure most people know, or have lease read an article about this place already. But we think it’s worth a look….
We are going on a Euro trip. This time to Darmstadt, Germany to visit a block of flats!
What you are looking at is a living spiral staircase. This amazing place has over 100 flat and the best fact of all is what it doesn’t have. These places believe it or not doesn’t have…
The same door handles twice. (All 1000+ are different)
The same window’s twice. (They are all different styles and colours)
And most surprisingly of all it has no straight lines or stairs! The outside of the building has absolutely no stairs at all; the whole building is assessable with ramps only. Very strange indeed but also very amazing (there is even a large pond compleat with fish in it!!!).
Just looking at the all 12 levels of the roof and all the different garden styles on each section makes us want to go see it for ourselves more and more. And we just want to say well done to Friedensreich Hundertwasser for designing this amazing place that he build way back in 2,000 but we thought it needed another look.
So who is up for a bit of roof top go-karting!
